another festive fair...
I'm home safe and sound from the big smoke after a festive day at 'We Make Christmas' in Chelsea Town Hall yesterday. It was a really well-organised event (thank you Mary!) with lots of lovely stalls and goodies, and it was great to meet all the people who came to my stall throughout the day. We had a lovely time munching on mince pies and turkish delight!
I'm now ready to rejoin my sewing machine and prepare more goodies for next weekend, as I will be having a little stall at the 'Cotswold Christmas Craft Fair' at the Queens Hotel on the Promenade in Cheltenham from 10am til 4pm... if you're local to the Gloucestershire area I'd love to see you there! x

www.buythesea.co.uk
I have a new online stockist... www.buythesea.co.uk is a lovely website selling nautical themed gifts, and it now features my beach huts tea cosies, tea towels in turquoise and navy blue, and illustrated cards. Have a look at the website in the Coastal Living and Stationary sections!
Beach huts in navy blue...
At last I have managed to get around to producing a navy blue beach huts tea towel - navy and white are all the rage in Devon and Cornwall - always have been and I suspect always will be! So it made sense to produce my original turquoise tea towel in another colourway... classic navy blue and white.
I am also working on Christmas tea towels and cards as we speak... these are coming soon - keep your eyes peeled! x

Autumn doorstop range 09
This week I have been looking through my fabric samples and putting together ideas for my new season of products. These doorstops are the first installment, and I'm wrapped! They are £12.00 each and made from thick cottons and other sturdy fabrics. The materials are all locally sourced, and each is individually hand made. They come in three colourways - teal, charcoal, and cranberry.

New card illustrations...
In the last few days the illustrative juices have been flowing... so I whipped out my sketchbook and began. So far the sketch-fest has resulted in two new card designs: cupcakes and beach huts. To correspond with my tea towel designs and current range of products. These cards are available to buy on Folksy... http://www.folksy.com/shops/CharlotteMaceyTextiles

Egg Cosy Alert...
I am excited to announce that 'Charlotte Macey Textiles' is finally off the ground (so to speak)!
This has been in the pipeline for a wee while... it has taken months to sample til I'm completely satisfied with the products I am making, I've been on many fabric sourcing expeditions, and have spent a fair few hours at my sewing machine, as well as continuing with my 'day job'... it's been a bit of a battle.
The 2009 range features locally sourced linens and vintage cottons. The first cosy to emerge has been made from beautiful buttercup coloured cotton, with a unique 'meadow flower' stitch design and appliqued floral cotton. The second egg cosy is made from lavender linen/cotton, incorporating vintage Liberty fabric (an exciting relic found at the bottom of my mum's fabric collection!) and a floral cotton lining. I hope you enjoy the initial pictures of my 2009 collection, and I hope to put some more up soon...
